Newly focusing on the theme of « Thin and Flexible Packaging », the ARCSIS Micropackaging Days have chosen to adopt a leading edge position on the microelectronics and packaging activities.
This year, the event will take place on October 15th & 16th 2009. Organised at the Provence Microelectronics Centre ? Georges Charpak in Gardanne, it will deal with « Thin and Flexible Packaging » once again and will consist of scientific and technical conferences presented by experts from Universities, research centres and industry.
The conferences will address the general theme of "Thin & Flexible Packaging" and will be divided in two sessions: - Printed Electronics - Advanced Packaging and Smart objects For more information about the content of the sessions, please refer to the meeting programme.

KEY POINTS 2009:
- Two Keynote speakers: Peter Slikkerveer worked for over 10 years on diverse subjects in the Material Science and Processing area at Philips Research Labs in Eindhoven (NL). In 2000 he started there the research towards flexible displays, resulting in the world?s first fully flexible LCD display in 2002. From 2004 he has been the technical leader of the Philips Smartcard Display incubator and later the Display on Card program at NXP Semiconductors. In February 2009 he became Director at MpicoSys ? Embedded Pico Systems, a start-up company directed towards consultancy and product development of miniature electronic systems like smartcards with displays. Georges Malliaras, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University and the Lester B. Knight Director of the Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility ? the flagship facility of the National Nanofabrication Infrastructure Network. He received a BS from the Aristotle University (Greece) and a PhD, cum laude, from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands). His research focuses on organic semiconductors and their application in electronics and bioelectronics, and has been recognized with awards from the New York Academy of Sciences, the National Science Foundation, and DuPont. He is a co-author of 116 publications in peer-reviewed journals that have received over 3,400 citations. His h-index is 33. He serves as the chairman of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Materials Chemistry.
